History

The history of basketball in Turkmenistan spans several decades. During this time, basketball has become one of the fastest-growing team sports, uniting thousands of children, youth, and adults. Turkmenistan Basketball Federation was created to systematically develop the sport, improve national competitions, train high-class athletes, and represent the country on the international stage. Today, the Federation continues to develop modern basketball infrastructure, strengthen international cooperation, and raise the level of national competitions.

About Federation

Turkmenistan Basketball Federation is a subject of the physical culture (physical culture and sports) movement in Turkmenistan—a national sports federation established in 1992 and operating in accordance with the legislation of Turkmenistan, accredited by the authorized state body in the field of physical culture and sports, a member of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan and, since 1998, of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), recognized by them as the sole specially authorized organization governing basketball in Turkmenistan, organizing official basketball competitions within the territory of Turkmenistan under its auspices, and representing Turkmen basketball on the international stage.

To develop basketball in Turkmenistan by creating a modern training system for athletes, improving the qualifications of specialists, holding high-quality competitions, and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population. The Federation strives to unite people through sport, develop a new generation of athletes, and represent Turkmenistan with dignity on the international stage.

3rd Asian Beach Games

FIBA Asia 3x3 Championship

5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games
